Heliosphere

Heliosphere was a project of which I was shortlisted for an internship with Elmwood Design Studio. It was based around a high-end luxury interstellar pod that could travel anywhere in the solar system in 3 hours. It was inspired mainly by Concorde.

All the other logos that I created before settling on the simple wordmark and symbol logo.

The website was designed to be an interesting and smooth experience that mimics the smooth experience our customers will experience when on board. It starts off by allowing them to pick which planet they want to visit. Once you select you can either pick a flypast of the planet or a lander if that option is available.

If you click on ‘the ship’ tab an animated version of the ship flies down from the logo and it shows you how you will experience it. Starts off on earth and then flies into space where the walls of the spacecraft will fall away giving you an unprecedented view of space.

The final part of the ship experience is all about the robotic bar and how that makes you different cocktails. There will also be an app version that offers the same booking options and animated in a similar style.

I wanted you to have a physical ticket as it will give you something to keep and take away from the experience as a memento. The design is that there is a series of dots over the page and if your ticket is to Neptune then the dot that represents Neptune will be coloured in. The back of the ticket has the basic information about your flight and is not too complicated. It will be printed using duplex printing with the top with the dots printed on black stock and the back printed on a white card stock.
